When to Survey Your Members

When seeking feedback from your members, try surveying them right after they’ve had some kind of interaction with your organization. Why? Because you’ll boost your chance of getting specific, helpful feedback. If you wait too long after a transaction, member feedback is more likely to be vague.

Look for survey opportunities in everyday situations. Some ideas: when a member calls to complain; after a member attended an organizational event (such as a workshop or meeting); when a member buys a product from your organization; when a member uses a membership benefit or service.
