Compiling a Media List

If you’re compiling your media list for the first time, or updating one you already have, check out published resources such as Bacon’s Publicity Checker, Writer’s Market or Editor & Publisher Yearly.
These directories contain detailed contact information for thousands of media outlets on a local, regional and national basis. The directories include addresses, phone and fax numbers, names of specific editors, circulation, TV programs, etc. Look for these directories at your local library. Or, ask a local public relations firm to donate their outdated editions to your non-profit rather than discard them.
